It’s probably a toss-up between food and alcohol, which is more commonly used in our world for self-regulation.   Some writers say that alcohol use in the west takes the place of meditation practices in the east.  At any rate, it is very effective in dampening and softening the sharp corners of life, even seeming to increase health and longevity in moderate amounts.  What are its long-term consequences for us as drinkers, and what kinds of effects might we see in ourselves as children of drinkers?  This teleseminar’s explorations will take us from understanding present time support to having a sense of the progression of alcoholism, to looking at transgenerational trauma and its transmission.
