What You'll Learn Each Month:

Module 1 - The Art of Representing in Family Constellations

February 7, 2025

It is possible for representations that we hold to bring us deep experiences of joy and meaning. How can we approach our work as representatives from a stance that is most likely to open doors for us to a larger understanding of the human condition?

Module 2: Finding Ourselves in the Web of our Contracts and Loyalties

March 21, 2025

Once we have begun to understand unconscious contracts, we start to notice how common they are, and how they are the props and supports of every waking moment for most of us. How do we find ourselves in such a world, and how can we look in order to see people’s true selves inside their contracts?

Module 3: The Role and Resolution of Trauma in Constellations

April 18, 2025

Trauma is the element that most brings people to seek healing from constellations. In this class, we will learn the hallmarks of trauma, how to recognize its effects, and what to look for and offer in constellations in order to create resolution.

Module 4: Healing our Sense of Mother

May 9, 2025

We learn how to love ourselves and others from our mothers, less from what they try to teach us, and more from the way they care for themselves. The relationship with mother forms the way the inside of our brains feel, the way we pay attention, and the way we live. Constellation work is one of the most effective approaches to bringing change and healing to our sense of mother. This session will explore ways to bring this healing about.

Module 5: Healing our Sense of Father

June 20, 2025

We learn how to interface with the world, and how to play, from our fathers, less from what they try to teach us, and more from the way they themselves interface with the world. When there are problems with our father’s relationship with his world, or with us, it impacts our ability to gain traction in our lives. Constellation work is one of the most effective approaches to bringing change and healing to our sense of father and world. This session will explore ways to bring this healing about.

Module 6: Finding our Right Place as Parents/Mentors

July 18, 2025

One of the most difficult things for us as both parents and mentors is to find our right place in relationship to our children or mentees. Many things keep us stuck trying to get other people’s attention, or to make sure that others are okay, instead of being able to be grounded in our own lives, and instead of simply being able to let the love flow through us. Constellation work teaches us where to locate ourselves, and how to let our attention, and our love, flow through us. This session will explore ways to reposition and open ourselves.

Module 7: Working with the Hidden: Secrets and the Unconscious in Families

August 15, 2025

When a sense that something is secret arises in a constellation, what might it point us toward? What can we do when there are secrets in our families or in our constellations, and what is the neuroscience of how such things might feel, and might affect us?

Module 8: Acknowledging Scale and Magnitude in Constellations

September 19, 2025

One of the things that stops brains from integrating difficult life experience, and keeps trauma memories suspended in our daily consciousness, instead of moving through us, is the scale and magnitude of what we’ve lived through. If no one can acknowledge the enormity of our hard times, then they continue to plague us. Once we understand this, constellation work can be ideal for helping us to move through and integrate our lives.

Module 9: Opening the Door to Mystery and Awe in Constellations

October 31, 2025

Some of the loveliest and most nourishing things that happen in life are the moments of mystery and awe. Sometimes they even happen in constellations. What can we do to open ourselves to more mystery and awe in both our constellations, and in general in our lives?

Module 10: Supporting the Movement Through Heartbreak in Constellations

November 21, 2025

Our hearts can be broken in so many ways – by lost love, the death of parents, siblings, children, good friends, the loss of land, of home, of livelihood, of passion – how can constellations help us survive, heal and grow to love again?

Module 11: Negotiating Death and Darkness in Constellations

December 12, 2025

Transitions are always difficult. Our death, the death of people who are important to us, the way time is always slipping away, these things hurt us and make it hard to breathe. What can constellations do to help us?

Module 12: The Resurrection of Hope in Constellations

January 9, 2026

Hope is both impossible and indispensable. It buoys us up, it makes people happy, it makes life worth living, and at the same time the circumstances of the world and of our lives make it difficult to catch any hope at all. Constellations, with their expansive and paradoxical ability to reflect reality, can take us a giant step toward the integration of life-giving skeptical hope and optimism.

Introduction to Emergent Constellations 2025

Family Constellation work heals trauma at the family level, transgenerationally and historically, as well as at the personal level. How have your ancestors’ journeys impacted you and how can you transform your family from influencing you with trauma to becoming a resource?

Constellations are a way of unwinding and unraveling the frozen strands of trauma and buried nervous-system vows from our essential beings, so that we can flourish, live, and contribute our gifts with ease.

Sarah’s approach encourages facilitators to integrate relational neuroscience and an understanding of relational vs instrumental language into the work. Participants learn the basics of constellation work within the framework of emergent constellations, and enter into a meaningful partnership with reps and clients to harvest all the wisdom that is present in the field.

For beginners and experienced practitioners alike, this 2-day, 10-hour class will give you the vocabulary and experience you need to enjoy other facilitation classes.

Webinar Bundle: The 2025 Monthly Constellations and Neuroscience Webinar Series

We humans are neurobiologically made for relationships, but relationships are so confusing! People don’t come in simple packages, they come wrapped in trauma and unconscious contracts, and we ourselves respond from our own traumas and contracts. This happens whether we are children, parents, siblings, employees, bosses, part of church or school communities, or descendants of our ancestors. What kind of brain patterns give rise to our tangled responses to one another, and how can constellation work help us disentangle ourselves? Join Sarah Peyton for the full year or for single sessions of exploration, growth and enjoyment of clarity and new access to power.

This 12-month live online drop-in series will offer new ways to think about working with that most common of questions: the relationship. You can purchase sessions individually or as a full series; purchase includes an invitation to the live exploration, and the recording provided afterwards.

Constellations Certification Program 2025 FAQ

What are Emergent Constellations and how are they different from what people call “Family Constellations?”

Bert Hellinger, the originator of “Family Constellations,” pioneered a way of disentangling the current members of a family from the unresolved issues of previous generations, so that love can flow from one generation to the next.

Beginning in the 2010’s, Sarah Peyton began to explore the convergence of relational neuroscience and Family Constellations. She began to ask the questions: How can research from the world of neuroscience inform and provide leverage for our constellation facilitation? How can the science of the healing of emotional trauma improve our work for our clients and give us solid ground in a world that has been deeply intuitive and inspired, without any loss of the gifts of intuition and inspiration? Working in this area, she began to see that much of the work of constellations that had traditionally been done interpersonally, between family members and between generations, could also be done within the self. It became clear that the work could be done within the brain, with different brain parts being represented, that the knowledge of the way that brains work could be seen in the workings of constellations, and that it was possible to integrate the learnings from the world of healing emotional trauma into the way that constellations were done, and track and support positive brain change in the movements of representatives.

Constellations can be done on a continuum from very directed, where the resolution is happening within the facilitator and then being dictated to the representatives in the field, to very emergent, where the movements are arising from the spontaneous interplay of representatives and their voices with little to no direction from the facilitator. This second, emergent approach allowed the healing movements of the brain to be reflected in the constellations group in a comprehensive way, and worked very well with the integration of relational neuroscience.

Sarah began to teach this integration, and in honor of the spontaneous healing movements that arose from it, she calls this work “Emergent Constellations.”

Do people need to have a certification from a Hellinger Institution to be able to facilitate Family Constellations?

No, people do not need certification of any kind to be a Family Constellations facilitator. This is a field wherein you prove yourself through your work with clients, build a practice through word of mouth, and bring with you the lineage of teachers that you have studied with, which gives prospective students a sense of the style of your work.

What is the lineage of your teaching? How are you connected with Bert Hellinger’s Family Constellations?

My studies have largely been with the first generation of Hellinger’s students, including: Jane Peterson, Francesca Mason Boring, Judith Hemming, Stephan Hausner, Guni Baxa, Jan Jacob Stam, Sneh Victoria Schnabel, Albrecht Mahr, and finally and most importantly the Russian constellations master Elena Veselago.

Why did you decide to offer a Certification Program in Emergent Constellations Facilitation?

I have been teaching bits and pieces of my facilitation method in the annual Master Class series, in the International Certification Training for Jonine Gabay out of Australia, for the Centre for Systemic Constellations in London, and have been working with larger groups in my monthly Constellations and Neuroscience classes. Participants were asking for a coherent gathering of constellation skills and tools for facilitation in the Emergent method, so a year ago I began mapping out the important subjects and knowledge areas in both constellations and neuroscience for a year of study for Basic Certification, and this year we are ready to roll out the program.

How will this program help me become a Facilitator of Constellations?

This program will take students who have little exposure to constellation work through the basics needed to begin to explore facilitation. It will also support more experienced students of facilitation in integrating relational neuroscience into their work, strengthening and economizing their facilitation for maximum effect.

What does a student need to do/complete in order to gain the certification?

This basic program consists of 14 days of training and practice, and in order to gain certification, the student must attend all the days in person, and participate fully in the breakout groups, taking their turns in small group facilitation, and also experiencing facilitating in the large group with or without support, as they choose. If a student misses a day, they will be able to make it up during the next year’s program for an additional fee.

Is there a requirement for a certain % live attendance, on video participation, etc?

100% live attendance with cameras on is required for certification.

Is there a requirement for X hours of practice, either in breakout rooms or outside of class time?

It is recommended that students form additional practice groups for 5-6 hours per month. This is optional, and not a requirement, as some students will already be constellation facilitators with their own practices who are learning to integrate neuroscience into their practice.

Is there a requirement for any tests or submissions other than classwork?

There is no requirement for any tests or submissions other than being present in class and participating fully.

What are the benefits of becoming certified?

Since Family Constellation Facilitation does not have any required certifications, the benefits of becoming certified are revealed in whether or not a participant has a sense of groundedness, confidence and humility in stepping into the field that makes them an effective practitioner. It shows up in the quality of work that people do, their ability to keep relational neuroscience and trauma healing research in mind in their support of their clients, and in the trust that their clients have in them.

Is there a list/webpage that certified practitioners will be added to?

At the present time there is no webpage of certified practitioners. A list will be maintained that will be provided to clients who inquire.

Is there a logo students could add to their website?

We will be developing a logo that students can add to their website.

Are there likely to be ongoing requirements to retain certification?

There will be no ongoing requirements to retain certification, but active participation in facilitation must be ongoing to stay on the list.
