Dissolving Contracts that Block Joy
January 8, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am PST
Cost: FreeAbout the Event
When has outer work or service to others felt aligned to a regenerative, joyful source within you? How do you discern between that which emanates from an intrinsically joyful place, and that which depletes you?
Sarah will show us how we can use resonant-language practice, meditations, and journaling as healing strategies to uncover and rewrite these contracts:
- How trauma can cause us to loyally be carrying out unconscious sacred vows that we undertook at a younger age to protect ourselves or others;
- How we sometimes carry out these vows without regard to the cost to ourselves and others;
- How we can check to see if we are ready to release the vow and, if so, how to do so.
Where?
The call will meet via online video on Awakin.org. Audio recordings and transcripts will be made available.

What To Expect:
Please join Sarah Peyton for a special 2.5-hour New Year’s session and interactive workshop on releasing the contracts that block us from experiencing joy in our lives.
“We use unconscious contracts to help us function in a world where we have not really been accompanied, and to make up for our brains not getting to grow the way that they were supposed to,” Sarah says.
In this workshop, we will work to dissolve these contracts and celebrate the resonance skills that support the feeling and expression of joy. We will also look at what Sarah terms “false” Bodhisattva vows, and how to distinguish such false vows involving unhealthy self-sacrifice from those of joyful service.
A long-time senior trainer of non-violent communication, Sarah’s work explores tools of relational neuroscience that help one turn inward with kindness, warmth, and curiosity and create opportunities for self-healing. In this workshop, Sarah will take us into the world of relational neuroscience, exploring how our brains, nervous systems, and bodies react to ourselves and others. Sarah’s workshop focuses on the question, “Have we made an unconscious contract with ourselves, such as a False Bodhisattva Vow, that sabotages our ability for healthy self-care?”
In these challenging and polarized times, please join this free 2.5-hour workshop for the Awakin Calls Community, in order to work with Sarah to deepen joy and sense of joyful service!
By applying complex neuroscience concepts to real life – with stories, role plays of research, meditations, and engaging dialogues – participants leave Sarah’s presentations with more wisdom and self-compassion, often making sense to themselves for the first time.
