Jim and Jori Manske’s The Vortex of Submission is the focus of our exploration this month. Our truest choices arise from our nervous systems having a neuroception of safety, a place from which we can act and decide with ease. When we submit, we deny responsibility. When we live in accordance with others’ unspoken expectations, we live within demand energy. From demand grows rebellion and resentment, which take us away from mourning and into blame. What is happening in the brain in relationship to submission? How can we bring our empathy skills to bear to heal our brains, clear away our submission contracts, and live with more joy and freedom?
