Your Loneliness Makes Sense.

Our human species has lived through a collective trauma: modernization and separation from land. We have convinced ourselves we don’t need each other, but in reality our mammal bodies are made for relationship.

Mammals have GRIEF/PANIC emotional circuitry in our brains, and when baby mammals are without their kin, their village, their primary care-giver, the land, that circuitry goes into full alarm (anxiety, sadness, depression and loneliness are all related symptoms).

But in our culture of the heroic rugged individualist, its not ok to admit we are lonely. We shame ourselves for our perfectly natural response to the alienation of the modern world. But we can learn something different. More below.
