Description
Did you ever wonder what could happen if your ancestors were welcomed into your resonant healing experience? If you haven’t been in constellation classes, have you wondered what it would be like to bring your body more fully into your healing? If you have been exploring constellations, do you ever wonder how it would be to bring in the warmth, precision, and nervous-system awareness of resonance?
Where Resonance Meets the Field, A Live In-Person Retreat: Ancestors in Resonant Healing, and Resonance in Constellations is a five-day, non-residential, live retreat devoted to the meeting place between two deeply transformative practices. We will explore how ancestral and systemic awareness can deepen individual healing, and how resonance can bring greater accompaniment, embodiment, and relational safety to constellation work.
Every person is formed by more than the events of their own lifetime. We are shaped by our families and communities, our lifetime relationships, and the transgenerational histories that made our lives possible. We may carry loyalties to people we have never met, grief that was never spoken, protective strategies that once helped someone survive, or longings that have moved through a family for generations.
These ancestral influences may appear as persistent fear, alarmed aloneness, over-responsibility, loneliness, confusion, or difficulty receiving care. We may understand a pattern clearly and still feel held inside it. We may even have compassion for ourselves, feel complete in some ways, and still sense that something larger is asking to be seen.
Constellation work gives us ways to listen to this larger field.
During this retreat, we will practice noticing when a present-day struggle may have roots in the family or ancestral system. We will explore how to invite ancestors, family members, excluded people, and other elements of the constellation field into our resonant practice, and help make an unseen system more visible.
At the same time, we will bring the practice of resonance more fully into constellation work. All of us – from beginners to experienced folks – will practice staying close to the person while remaining aware of the wider field.
With the help of relational neuroscience, we will explore how human beings use connection to regulate emotion, organize experience, and restore access to choice.
The retreat will include teaching, demonstrations, guided experiential practices, small-group work, large-group constellations by lottery, and opportunities to practice both one-to-one session work and emergent constellations. Participants will have time to experience the work from several positions: as facilitator, client, representative, witness, and member of the learning community. Everyone belongs, and we all have our own point of access and connection from which the learning can unfold.
Across the five days, we will explore questions such as:
How do we recognize when an ancestor may be present in a dilemma? How can we include the ancestral field while keeping the individual’s own life, body, and agency at the center? How do we manage in constellations when strong emotion arises?
We will also explore the role of unconscious contracts: the inner vows and loyalties that can form around love, survival, belonging, and protection. A person may carry an implicit promise to remain small, stay alone, take care of everyone, carry another person’s pain, or refuse a life that an ancestor was unable to have. When these contracts are met with resonance, their original intelligence can become visible. The person can begin to honor the love within the contract while finding a new relationship with the present.
This retreat is an invitation into a way of working that is both systemic and relational. It asks us to listen to the field without losing contact with the personal. It asks us to welcome the ancestors while supporting the living. It asks us to trust emergence while staying attentive to pacing, consent, dignity, and choice.
Participants will leave with practical ways to bring ancestral awareness into session work, a deeper understanding of how resonance supports constellation processes, and greater confidence in following the movements that arise between person, nervous system, family, and field. As always, the foundation of the work is the relational neuroscience, and the healing modalities let us bring the science to life.
