Writing Warmth for Bodies: Illness, Pain, and More
Are you in a continual dialogue with your body to find the energy and wellness to fuel your creative spark? Join Sarah Peyton for a six-week course to support your movement towards well-being through creativity and warmth.
In these challenging times, anger and rage can be powerful catalysts for personal and collective change. But how often do we connect our rage with love, and understand the deeper motivations behind our emotional responses?
In this six-week writing workshop, we will be challenging the dominant paradigm that says that warmth is not important, and exploring the lived experience of self-warmth for our health and well-being.
It’s not that becoming warm with ourselves suddenly gives us the young healthy bodies we once had, but rather that as we learn to have warmth for our bodies in their current manifestations, we begin to be able to express gratitude and appreciation for how hard our bodies have been working to overcome the effects of historical and familial trauma. And this moves us towards well-being, no matter how much we are contending with illness and fatigue.Â
Over the course of six weeks, we’ll learn about the neuroscience of fatigue and illness, particularly the impact that fatigue and illness has on the brain and our brain functioning. We’ll also dive into the impact of the relationship that one’s brain has with its mother, and how that impacts the body and health. Through unconscious contract work and time travel, we will explore contracts that take us out of the present moment, contracts that make us self-hate or self-criticize, contracts that make us believe our better will never be good enough, and contracts that make us scorn and criticize our bodies instead of being warm and appreciative with them.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how warmth can change our relationships with our sick bodies, and how that change opens up doors to creativity and well-being. You’ll leave with practical tools for unlocking more freedom in your writing and creative work, having more access to gratitude and celebration, and experiencing greater enjoyment in life.Â
Experience what’s possible when you explore and create within a resonant and welcoming space that honors the uniqueness of your truth and your voice in this six-session series dedicated to creative process and exploration.
