Finding Sweetness With Kids: Parenting and Grandparenting With Resonance

Are your kids or grandkids so dear to you that you sometimes ache with love and worry for them? Join Sarah Peyton for a stand-alone session to discover how the warmth of your presence can become a lasting source of joy, strength, and connection in their lives.

Do you long for a warm, deeply alive relationship with your child or grandchild, whatever their age, but find yourself caught in old stories or patterns, quietly wondering if something essential is missing? Are you discouraged by the distractions of devices?

Do you ache for a way to find shared attention, and to truly inhabit the world together?

In a world focused on doing things “right” and measuring success through achievement, it’s easy to lose sight of what matters most: the invisible thread of love between parents, grandparents and the kids they both love.

It is both difficult and essentially important to look at the ways that our old habits of thought and the stories that we hold onto about the kids we love interrupt the emergent evolution of our connection with them. Resonance and relational neuroscience give us the tools and information we need to locate these patterns and transform them.

This course invites parents, grandparents, and caregivers into the kind of relationship many have dreamed of but haven’t known how to find: one rooted not in control or correction, but in presence, curiosity, and mutual becoming. Together we will learn how to bring resonance into our parenting and grandparenting, so that we can support our kin in their development of secure attachment and joyful emergence.

The first half of our time will focus on building foundational resonance skills that can be used with kids of any age. The second half will offer experiential processes for transforming unconscious contracts that keep us, and our children, stuck.

Together we will learn what is possible when we make a child the center of our attention with delight, the importance of offering our children impossible dreams, the nuts and bolts of talking about body sensation to create connection, the difference between offering metaphors and trying to fix, and experience standing beside our child and behind our child in support rather than trying to be a teacher or a pathfinder. We will discuss how destructive it is to have unyielding stories about our children and how to change them.

This is not a class about how to get kids to do things. This is a class about how to open the door to love.
