During this course, there will be an opportunity to participate in an optional peer-led writing group. This is a 1-hour per week time commitment.  In preparation, for our time together, please fill out this form. Regardless of whether you would like to participate in a practice group, we request you complete the form.  These groups will likely be between 3-5 people depending on responses.

Please read the information below to familiarize yourself with the intention of the group. You will receive a new suggested format for each week.

These groups are intended to create a practice space to practice exercises learned during the weekly session and additional writing time.

Each week, we will provide a suggested structure, which your group might choose to follow. You are also free to decide as a group to do something else with your time. I have included alternative formats in addition to the suggested format. We invite you to co-create a space that feels meaningful.

Commitment and Consistency
As much as possible, we would love to have groups be consistent and predictable and to minimize movement between them, so that you have an opportunity to really get to know one another over the course of this workbook study. That said, if you need to miss a session, please let your group know. If you discover over the course of the next 6 weeks that you need to switch groups or drop your group, please let one another know and check in with me (Jaya). I will try to find another group for you if necessary. If, during the upcoming weeks, someone wishes to enter your group after it has already met a couple of times, I will check in with you all and you can decide if you are open to a new person joining. I expect some movement in the first week or so since not everyone filled out the survey.

We suggest you meet for 1 hour each week during each of the remaining 5 weeks that the course meets.  If your group, or a part of the group, wishes to continue meeting after the end of the course, please do!! But there is no commitment beyond the end of the course.

Individual Practice
If you are not in a practice group, please follow the weekly pre-work suggestions provided with each week if you wish to practice individually (you will see these as a topic below each week’s offering as suggested pre-work)
